This hole was drilled by the Virginia Division of Mineral Resources and logged by Virginia Tech. The hole was drilled to sample the coal-bearing strata beneath the Pulaski thrust sheet. Its proximity (2 mi) to Virginia Tech made it possible to log it twice before it had to be closed and cemented. The temperature logs are shown below in various formats to illustrate the excellent reproducibility of the temperature-logging equipment.
